It's time to "speak up"
Good time of the day, my readers! Today I'm going to write a post that is related to a new "Public speaking" task. It's performances. Yeah, we're becoming natural SPEAKERS! Well, it's time to tell you about our first speaker and evaluate her speech. She's Polina, my groupmate. Actually, she's the first in the list of speakers in m group. So I', really proud of her te bo such a person.
I guess, from the picture above, you can catch that her topic was "Stage Fright". Honestly, I looked forward to learning this issue, because I think it's one of the most common problem for people. So it's one of the most important task to solve.
Let's start our evaluation. For it, I'm going to use evaluating speech content component from the book С. П. Хорошилова "Уроки ораторского мастерства".
1. Introduction
- What technique(s) was used in the introduction? As for me, she didn't use any techniques in her introduction. Polina only named the topic of her speech.
- Any link-element? As for link-element for the body of the speech, I think Polina told us what was she going to talk about further (the process of communication).
- Was the thesis statement given? I can't see concrete thesis in her introduction.
- How effective was the introduction?

- How well structured was the information presented?

- How understandable was the information (was it clearly explained)?

-What technique(s) was used in the conclusion? Polina finished her speech with giving some advice to overcome the stage fright.
-Were all the steps followed (summary, action, emotional appeal?) Perhaps, the summary wasn't enough for me and alse I would like to listen to more about an emotional moment that is associated with Polina's experience in overcoming stage fright.
-How effective was the conclusion?
Very effective Some conclusion None
